The five phases.

Five phases describe the lifetime arc of a relationship's formation. Each phase names the work; the methodology meets you where you are.

  1. Profile. Where every member shows up in full. The interior work. The read of yourself before someone is in view.
  2. Connection. Where both sides opt in. The Open Signal governs whether the cadence advances.
  3. Courtship. Time and intention, not race-to-conversation. The Build Signal across two cycles tells the truth before language arrives.
  4. Commitment. The outcome you came here for. The Progress Signal across one full cycle is the methodology's readiness check.
  5. Ongoing. Live the outcome you've built. Quarterly recalibration is the cadence the methodology reads against.

Every Coach turn names the phase. Every Suitability Report scores the position. Every Letter from Coach observes the work in context.

The five signals.

Five signals diagnose where you are in the work.

  1. Intent. What you came for. The upstream calibration that shapes every decision below it.
  2. Position. The standing you bring. The interior read of yourself before someone is in view.
  3. Open. Whether the door has been walked through. The Connection-Phase governing read.
  4. Build. Whether the cadence cycle holds without you supplying its momentum. The Courtship-Phase truth-teller.
  5. Progress. Whether the cadence is moving the right direction. The Commitment-Phase readiness check.

The Coach reads them. The Playbook chapters teach them. The Suitability Report scores them. The signals are the diagnostic; the Playbook is the practice.

The nine intents.

Nine intent classes describe what you came for. The Connection Code begins with this calibration.

  1. Long-Term. A relationship that earns long-term standing.
  2. Marriage. The relationship that becomes a marriage.
  3. Fall in Love. The connection that becomes love.
  4. Casual. A short, honest connection without the long horizon.
  5. Friendship. Friendship, with the door left open.
  6. Companionship. Connection that is honest, present, and unhurried.
  7. Not Sure. Calibrating in progress. The methodology reads uncertainty as data, not deficit.
  8. Short-Term. An honest read within a shorter arc.

The Playbook.

The Playbook is 87 chapters of methodology — phase by phase, signal by signal, intent by intent. The corpus is a Living Knowledge Graph: every chapter cites adjacent chapters; every chapter accumulates engagement scores from the cohort over years; every chapter evolves quarterly through the Methodology Evolution Engine. The Coach pulls from the Playbook on every turn. Citations are mandatory. Trust is provable.

The taxonomy is structural: roughly 15 Profile-Phase chapters, 18 Connection-Phase chapters, 22 Courtship-Phase chapters, 18 Commitment-Phase chapters, and 14 Ongoing-Phase chapters. Each chapter names a Signal at an Intent. The graph is dense; the practice is specific.

What the Coach is, and is not.

The Coach is the methodology in conversation. Coach Lite is the choice tree at L1. Coach AI is the methodology applied at L2 Studio, citing the Playbook on every turn.
