  1. Attention

    The discipline of seeing.

  2. Discernment

    Distinguish the reaction from the self.

    A reaction is information. It is not a directive. Discernment surfaces the space between what is felt and what is acted upon — and that space is where the self lives.

  3. Steadiness

    Hold the center before action.

    The framework offers the pause; you hold the center. Pause, breath, ground. Action that begins from steadiness lands differently than action that begins from reactivity.

  4. Resolve

    Choose the response.

    A response chosen is different from a response driven. Resolve is the framework of choosing — not by suppressing what is felt, but by choosing what to do with it.

  5. Bearing

    The conduct of self over time.

    A single chosen response is a moment. The same chosen response across moments becomes character. Bearing is the framework of consistency — how you carry the self into every interaction.
